# Connect Namecheap

> Connect an eligible Namecheap account to use TenantCore Automatic DNS.

# Connect Namecheap

TenantCore supports direct Namecheap DNS automation, but Namecheap restricts API access to eligible accounts.

## Namecheap API eligibility

At the time TenantCore added the integration, Namecheap required an account to meet at least one of these conditions:

* **\$50 or more account balance**
* **20 or more domains**
* **\$50 or more in purchases within the previous 2 years**

Namecheap can change its requirements independently of TenantCore.

If your account is not eligible for Namecheap API access, use TenantCore's manual DNS workflow instead.

## Before you begin

Make sure:

* Namecheap API access is enabled for your account
* the domain is managed through the Namecheap account you are connecting
* any IP allowlisting required by Namecheap is satisfied
* your TenantCore plan includes Automatic DNS

## Connect Namecheap

1. Open the DNS-provider connection area.
2. Choose **Namecheap**.
3. Enter the credentials TenantCore requests.
4. Save the connection.
5. Run the provider test.

TenantCore can also surface Namecheap eligibility/connection state where available.

## Start Automatic DNS

Once the connection is healthy:

1. add the domain to TenantCore
2. open its DNS workflow
3. choose **Automatic DNS**
4. start provisioning

## If Namecheap automation is unavailable

Do not block the domain setup.

Open the manual DNS workflow and publish the TenantCore-provided Microsoft 365 records yourself.
